New Member Application

1. I hereby apply for REALTOR® membership in Scioto Valley REALTORS®. My application fee and dues will be returned to me in the event of that my application is not approved.

2. Upon approval of membership, I agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, which includes the duty to arbitrate, and the Constitution, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Scioto Valley, Ohio REALTORS® and the National Association. If required, I further agree to complete a reasonable and non-discriminatory written examination on such Code, Constitutions, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations to the satisfaction of the Board.

3. I understand and agree that my membership shall be established only upon approval by the Board of Directors and may be revoked at the sole and exclusive discretion of the Board of Directors if I fail to: (1) timely complete any requirements for membership as are or may be established by the Board of Directors of Scioto Valley REALTORS®, including its Multiple Listing Service Committee, Ohio REALTORS®, or the National Association of REALTORS®; or (2) comply with the rules or regulations of Scioto Valley REALTORS®, ®, including its Multiple Listing Service Committee, Ohio REALTORS®, or the National Association of REALTORS®, Scioto Valley REALTORS® related to membership obligations.

4. I understand and agree that I will be required to complete periodic REALTOR® Code of Ethics training as specified in the Association’s Bylaws as a condition of membership. I further acknowledge and agree that if my membership is terminated for any reason while an ethics complaint or commission arbitration is pending or while an arbitration award or ethics disciplinary action is outstanding, then the Board of Directors may condition renewal of membership upon my agreement to participate in a hearing, and/or to satisfy disciplinary action or a commission award. In the event of any termination of membership by me or the Board, then I agree that my obligation to arbitrate and to participate in ethics investigations and hearings continues, provided the dispute giving rise to the ethics or arbitration matter arose during membership.
